Blynk

You will get some blurry pictures. This is do to fast movement of either the camera or subject.

In Blynk’s setup menu you can change the frequency Blynk takes a picture. You can also add or remove a 16 pt time-stamp line on the bottom of your pictures, adjust your white balance, compression rate, sharpness, or color saturation, and turn on/off the flashing LED indicator light.

While you can create your own mounting method, we recommend using Blynk’s custom stand/mount to properly secure your Blynk. The stand comes with a universal tripod attachment that will fit any standard sized tripod.

Blynk is a tiny camera that has been designed with you in mind. Blynk’s unique hands-free design makes this camera the new “must-have” technology. Blynk is easy to operate, and it’s light-weight compact design makes it the perfect camera for everyone. No more having to fumble around for your camera phone, or having to carry around a bulky camera. Using it’s convenient clip, Blynk can be worn anywhere. Whether hiking a mountain or running a marathon, Blynk will capture all of life’s little moments, allowing you to live in the moment.

Our concept for Blynk was to allow users to easily make and, more importantly (we think), easily share movies with friends, family, co-workers, and the world. And how do we share movies these days? We make them accessible on the Internet. If Blynk produced 10 Mpixel images the movies would be so large they would be unmanageable. (We’ll ignore all the other limitations inherent with designing a 10 Mpixel time lapse camera that can store tens of thousands of images!) And if you did want to share 10 Mpixel movies on the Internet you would have to scale them down to a much smaller resolution to do so. We think that 640 x 480 is high enough resolution to see a lot of detail, and create file sizes that are very manageable.

To use your stand, gently push the plastic cover against your Blynk camera until all four corners click into place. You can then attach it to any universal tripod mount or attach another lens onto the lens mount.

How to use the double action folding base

  1. Unsnap the plastic “feet” from underneath the lens mount
  2. Rotate them so they are at a 90o angle with the camera
  3. Unsnap the back “foot” (the inside piece of plastic) from the front “foot”
  4. Rotate the back “foot” until it forms a flat vase for the camera
  5. Rotate to any angle you wish and enjoy!

How to close the base

  1. Snap the “feet” back together
  2. Clip the two locked pieces in under the lens mount

The versatile Blynk camera can be used in most any way you can imagine. Blynk can be set down, mounted, or worn. Clip Blynk to a pocket, shirt, hat, purse, lanyard, etc. It will compliment your outfit without missing a shot. Use Blynk at large-scale events such as music festivals, fashion shows, or weddings, or for more personal events such as small parties, skiing, hiking or biking. Create artistic videos, spy on Fido, or chronicle a child’s first experiences. Blynk can double as an affordable alternative camera security system for home or car . Take Blynk on a vacation to the Bahamas, or stay closer to home for a trip to the amusement park! Anyone, from busy executives to busy mothers, can use Blynk. Blynk is also popularly used for more serious applications, such as patients dealing with Alzheimer’s Disease and other memory loss issues. Blynk cannot be submerged under water.

Blynk comes with the LyfeView setup application (for PC and Macs) that allows users to choose unique setup options for varying filming situations. Through LyfeView, Blynk’s snapshot intervals can be adjusted to take one shot per second, to one frame per day. Use the LyfeView software to add a time-stamp to the bottom of picture, or adjust the white balance, compression rate, sharpness, and color saturation. Also use to turn on and off the flashing LED indicator light and to play back videos. Four GB of internal storage allow for long snapshot sequences, while the internal, rechargeable, Lithium-Ion battery provides well over 24 hours of battery life, even when taking a picture every two seconds.

Blynk saves every image as a JPEG compressed image, but does so by adding the image to a motion JPEG encoded AVI file located in Blynk’s nonvolatile 4 Gbytes of internal storage. Each Blynk session results in a single AVI file unless the file hits one of two internal limits. Files can contain no more than 20480 frames, and cannot be larger than 4 Gbytes in size. (At a time lapse interval of 1 second you’ll get a single movie for about every 5 hours and 40 minutes of recording).

Time Lapse

Time lapse photography is the technique of making movies by capturing pictures at long intervals and then playing them back at normal speed, so events that take a long time to unfold can be made visible to the human eye. For example, by taking a picture once every half hour and playing it back at normal speed you can witness the growth of a plant. By taking a picture once every five minutes, you can observe the rise and fall of the tide. By taking a picture every second, you can review and hour-long bicycle ride in a few minutes. The possibilities are endless.
